Ashfaq joined TCE & Associates in 2004, and is currently an Associate Principal at the firm. Prior to joining TCE, Ashfaq worked for Meinhardt (Singapore) PTe LTD as Senior Structural Engineer from 2000 to 2004 on various projects such as the Singapore Metro (MRT) Station, Kuala Lumpur Central Station, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila, Philippines. Ashfaq has been involved in the structural design of concrete high-rise commercial, residential, educational, industrial, garages and office buildings for gravity, wind and seismic forces for both serviceability and strength criteria. He was involved in the structural renovation of mixed use projects and large hotels such as The Hotel Washington in Washington, DC and the Uline Arena/Coliseum. The design systems utilize regular reinforced concrete, post tensioned concrete and structural steel. His responsibilities include structural analysis and design, investigation and evaluation of existing structures for renovation and conversion to other uses and upgrading of existing structures, Over the last 25 years, Ashfaq has designed projects with construction costs exceeding 8 billion dollars. This includes concrete high rises exceeding 30 stories (multi-family, office buildings, hotels and mixed-use.
