Palas Sarkar joined TCE & Associates, Inc. in 2002 and is an Associate Principal at the firm. At TCE, Palas has worked on a wide range of projects varying in complexity, size and building type. He has provided structural design of high-rise commercial, residential, industrial, institutional, garages, interiors, and office buildings. The design systems utilize reinforced concrete, pre-stressed and posttensioned concrete, and structural steel. Palas works with the owners, architects, consultants, and general contractors providing design and details throughout a project. He is involved with the coordination of the project team and various phases of projects from the design development through project completion, including the construction administration phase.

Palas was part of the design teams that won awards for several projects such as a post-tension 21-story high-rise building called Midtown Montrose North Bethesda, and the Museum of the Bible. Other noteworthy projects from Palas’ 37 years in the industry include Termo Emcali Power project located in Bogota, Columbia; steel building design for 750 East Pratt Street in Baltimore, Maryland; and petrochemical projects that involved development of a blast design guide and training of engineers.
